ISPA and Austrian organisations criticize the EU Commission’s proposal for a review of the European copyright law
In the course of the ongoing legislative procedure regarding the EU Commission’s proposal for a review of the European copyright law, and following the respective consultation by the Austrian Ministry of Justice, 16 Austrian organisations – from civil society, industry, internet service providers, research institutions and journalists - joined together to address their common standpoint in a joint stakeholder statement.
The statement is divided into three parts, each referring to one aspect of the legislative proposal. The three main requests of the statement are:
- No general monitoring obligations
- No innovation chill
- Fostering social and educational exchange
